CAT 2017 Registration, CAT 2017 Exam Date

CAT Registration and Online Application Form 2017-2018 - Indian Institute of Management Bangalore starts CAT 2017 Registration online from 9th August 2017.

The Indian Institute of Management conducts the CAT (Common Aptitude Test), a computer based exam, every year for admissions in management programs of 13 IIMs and other colleges and B-Schools. As it is a national level exam, around 3 lakh aspirants from across the Country appear in CAT exam held year after year. The CAT 2017 Registration starts 9th August and ends on 20th September 2017.

CAT 2017 will be held on 2 days in 4 slots per day. CAT 2017 Exam Date is 26th November 2017(Sunday). CAT 2017 result will be announced around the second week of January 2018. Candidates can apply for the CAT 2017application process online.
CAT 2017 will be conducted by IIMs. The CAT 2017 scores will serve as the basis for admissions in all the 13 IIMs and over 150 B-schools for the year 2017-18. This year the IIMs have 3,335 number of seats.

CAT 2017 Eligibility: To appear in CAT 2017 exam, a candidate requires a minimum 50% aggregate mark in graduation from a recognized institute/university in any discipline. SC, ST, OBC and DA category candidates requires an aggregate of 45% marks. Students pursuing graduation and in their final year can also apply.

CAT 2017 Application Procedure: Candidates need to register online for the CAT exam at the official CAT 2017 website. Candidates need to fill CAT 2017 application form with details such as personal, educational, contact and work experience details. Then select the test center, date and time slot for the CAT 2017 exam. After the successful submission of CAT 2017 application form online, candidates need to wait for the Admit Card and application summary in email. CAT 2017 application form fees can be made online via Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking. 

CAT 2017 Application Fee: Rs. 1800 for General and NC-OBC category candidates and Rs. 900 for SC/ST.PWD(DA) candidates.

CAT 2017 Exam PatternCAT 2017 is a computer based objective type exam with multiple choice questions(MCQs). The CAT exam will have two sections with 50 questions each - Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning. CAT exam duration is 170 minutes or 2 hours and 50 minutes. Candidates can switch over between any section during the test. A candidate gets 3 marks for each correct answer, 1 mark is deducted as negative marking for questions not answered correctly. CAT 2017 exam pattern is changed somewhat from the previoys years as number of questions per section has increased from 30 to 50. You can switch between any section starting from this year and time duration has also increased by 30 minutes, from 140 minutes to 170 minutes.

CAT 2017 Admit CardThe CAT admit card download will be made available to the candidates from the CAT 2017 official website from 18th October at 1 PM till the start of CAT exam. CAT 2017 Admit Card will not be sent to the email of the candidates but the candidates need to download the CAT Admit Card 2017 from the CAT website.

CAT 2017 Selection ProcessOn the basis of CAT 2017 cut-off scores, candidates are selected by IIMs and other B-Schools. Then candidates are again shortlisted in Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT). IIMs such as Kashipur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Trichy and Udaipur also conducts Common Admission Process (CAP).

CAT 2017 Test Centers: CAT 2017 exam will be held in 99 cities across the length and breadth of India. A candidate needs to provide 3 test cities in the online CAT 2017 registration process.
